Beit Hagat Ensemble: Poems of Love and Lamentation from Italian Jewish Tradition

The Beit Hagat Ensemble works in Jerusalem with musicians from Israel and around the world, members of different religions, specializing in performing and reviving Jewish musical traditions once considered lost. The ensemble’s performance, Love and Lament Poems, from Italian Jewish tradition, includes a collection of rare and ancient poems for Tisha B’av, Tu B’av and other holidays from the Jewish communities of Rome, Ferrara, Venice, Florence and Livorno, which were considered lost after World War II and played for the first time by the ensemble. In 2020, the ensemble released its debut album in 2020 winning many praises and will this year release its second album presenting healing liturgical poetry and hope from Italian Jewry.
