The Representative Ensemble of JAMD under the direction of Yorai Oron
The Academy’s representative ensemble is dedicated this year to the works of Chick Corea. Corea was one of the most important pianists and composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, active until his death in February, 2021. He wrote mainly in jazz style, but also composed classical music. Spanning over six decades, his work included a wide variety of jazz subgenres. He is considered an innovator and has a recognizable and unique voice. The ensemble will play a variety of Corea’s works from different periods.
