Take an hour outside of time and we’ll lull you to sleep with a soft blanket of lullabies and stories in various languages from Jerusalem’s seam line spaces along with a cup of tea with milk (spiked with alcohol). Across generations, mothers and grandmothers from Jewish communities around the world composed and sang lullabies and stories in many Jewish languages, including Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish, Ladino, Jewish Persian and more. This treasure was gradually forgotten in the reality of the new Hebrew culture, which, over the generations, eclipsed the ancient languages that developed over centuries of discourse between Hebrew and the cultures in which resided.
